Allan Mitelman biography



ALLAN MITELMAN was born in Poland in 1946 and arrived in Australia in 1953. He studied at the Prahran College
of Advanced Education (1965-68). Mitelman's work is represented in major public collections throughout Australia
New Zealand and America including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra
National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne and the Museum of Modern Art at Heide, Melbourne.
The exhibition, Allan Mitelman, After-images: A survey of works from 1970 -1995, was the first major survey
of the artist's work in Melbourne. A survey, Works on Paper 1967-2004 was shown at the National Gallery of Victoria
and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2004-5.

Allan Mitelman is currently living and working in Melbourne.
